been playing a lot of tennis... part of my greater scheme to get myself in shape... but am still severely lacking in fitness... gotta run more... but well, as usual, i never have e discipline... :( tennis has been up and down, sometimes gd, sometimes rather bad! :x haha... today was a bad forehand, but gd backhand day... arghh.. its so hard to achieve any decent form of consistency.

anw, on sunday, i finally managed to step foot into 点小二 (dian xiao er)... its this restaurant tt has a perpetually long queue outside. i always found it difficult to peek at e menu, so for fear of having to wash dishes after a meal, i decided tt i'd have a family lunch there instead... haha... ;) well, after a long wait, we got seated in the rustic looking restaurant. well, e decor fits e theme, the wooden planks and heavy stones, and straw (?) or is it hay (??!) like stuff, haha... and the cute gong tt sounds everytime food is churned out from e busy lil kitchen. even the waiters are dressed in some uncomfy looking costume made of some sort of ancient looking coarse cloth (can't remember what its called, hence e roundabt awkward description).

the ten spices herbal roast duck was superb! yummy... i totally loved tt... and so was the crispy beancurd... :) the mongolian spareribs were quite unique too... somewhat crunchy, but juicy and having a lovely flavour abt it. the other stuff we had weren't like v special... but quite ok la... :) after tt, did some grocery shopping. i shall not elaborate futher on the obscence amt of junk food i stocked up... :X haha...

alrite, today... after 4 horrendously slow lectures... ackk... i went down to TTSH to meet my mentor. on my way there, met my pri sch friend, and we chatted a lil... he still hasn't moved house! haha... anw, my mentor was really big shot. he's a MBBS, M.Med, FRACS, FRCSE, FACG. FAMS, PPA (E), PPA (P), Justice of Peace, Department of Gerenal Surgery, TTSH Director of Clinical Training, TTSH Associate Dean... blah blah... i dun even know what half of those things i typed were... simply... he's quite somebody. he had pple buy us lunch which we consumed in his office. and we just talked for an hour. it was really interesting, as he was telling us abt what we should expect, as well as the human aspect of medicine which we mustn't neglect. he really had trouble remembering my name, and it was quite a fiasco... ;) but nvm... he's really a nice guy, and well, he asked me n e other 2 pple in my grp when our bdays are, and it so happened tt ours were all within a month of each other. so he happily chirped in tt his was on 30th Feb. lol... if only we could've more lecturers like tt... ;)

oh on our way there, we walked thru a lil courtyard, for docs only or sth... its really nice. got gym, and childcare center, lounge... i can only imagine e childcare center... the kids will be, mine dad's a cardiac surgeon. oh, mine is a oncologists... after tt, i took a walk round e place, and i must say, its not like i'd have thot it'd be... the place isn't quite so gloomy... maybe its e color scheme working its intended effect? i dunno... :)
